THE LERARIO CHOIR QUEEN OF THE FESTIVAL

Another great success for the group of Silvi between folk and sacred songs

(Oct 13th, 2012) From September the 13th to the 15th  was held in Chianciano the largest gathering of folk groups from all over Italy the great family of FITP (Italian Federation of Popular Traditions). For the second consecutive year, was also attended by our Polyphonic Choir "P. G. Lerario" invited to play a leading role in the national event . Three days of great vitality, celebration, friendship and folklore during which the 30 participating groups have literally shocked and delighted the quiet monotony of the famous Tuscan spa town with sounds, dances, songs , popular outdoor games, parades, and even a race "Cooks in the streets" between the various regional specialties to achieve on-site Pool (our group has participated with the first dish "Taijline 'nghè  lu suche di mijelle" created by our director .

 

 

The highly qualified jury and the audience said they enjoyed the race and enjoyed the tasting of the excellent Montepulciano of Abruzzo DOC wine, "Feud S. Felice" 2008 vintage, kindly provided for the occasion by the Cantina Ripa. It was beautiful the opening event with an extraordinary choreography made ​​by the participating groups with banners in every region in the large and modern conference hall of the Grand Hotel filled in every grade. The choir Lerario , directed masterfully by director Franco Costantini and beautifully accompanied by the young accordionist Jordan D'Eustacchio, was chosen as the choral "official" event. Indeed, in addition to participate in performances like the other groups, we were given two specific tasks: to open the festival with the song "Va pensiero sull'ali dorate" from Verdi's Nabucco and animate Mass on Sunday morning. In particular, during the Sunday Mass , the choir, accompanied on the organ by Professor Giamila Berre, received the praise and thanksgiving of the pastor and the leadership of the FITP that have emphasized the correspondence liturgical and perfect execution.
